    All about Camus Cognac

Cognac is a traditional French luxury spirit, and Camus Cognac is considered one of the best Cognac brands in France. Many Americans might best recognize Cognac as an essential ingredient in the popular Sidecar cocktail. Camus Cognac is crafted in the French town of Cognac, a romantic town on the country’s western shore. The House of Camus was started in the mid-19th century, and the traditions have been passed down through five generations. Camus Cognac is twice distilled and carefully sampled and blended before aging in small casks, starting with the highest quality French Folle Blanche white grapes. The Folle Blanche grapes are considered more difficult to cultivate, adding to Camus’s prestige.

Some bottles of Camus Cognac can cost several hundred Euros, primarily because of the exclusivity of its products and the exceptional care spent creating the Cognac. The “Intensely Aromatic” Cognacs are considered some of the most intense Cognacs ever crafted. The Borderies Single Estate Cognacs are rich and amber-colored, with notes of vanilla and orange. Camus expanded its Cognac to the small island of Ile de Re as well. The island-based Cognac line is considered especially unique thanks to the sea spray on the island’s vineyards. The corresponding Cognac has a distinctly marine flavor. If you haven’t yet experienced the luxury of a tulip-shaped glass of Cognac, Camus is an excellent place to start.
