A Belgian blond ale aged in Brett-inoculated barrels. While some of our beers are fermented with Brettanomyces from the start, this beer began as Lumen, our humble Belgian blond. After the beer was finished, we left it to rest in chardonnay oak barrels previously housing Astral Weeks. That being said, moving the beer to these barrels exposes it to our house strain of Brett (a process called secondary fermentation). This wild yeast is a nimble thing, and can easily wedge itself into the nooks and crannies of most materials, especially porous ones like wood. Five months slumbering away in those barrels have given this beer complex characteristics of oak, citrus pith, and grape. Named after the character of the same name in Les Misérables.
