Corbières is a quantitatively significant appellation in the Languedoc region of Southern France. Mourvèdre can be a tricky grape to ripen but the warmer areas of Corbières succeed with pleasing regularity. Hot and dry summers in the ‘garrigue’ landscape of Corbières give this chunky red (made from 70% Mourvèdre plus Syrah and Grenache) a whiff of rosemary and thyme alongside the blackberry and plum fruits. This is more affordable than many wines from Corbieres. One of the wines from Corbieres that is popular with Wine-Searcher users. Available at only a few outlets in Europe and America. At the start of this month an assortment of vintages between 2011 and 2014 were available.
