J. Lohr Estates Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon is dark and dense to the rim of the glass. Layered aromas of black currant, blueberry and cherry are accentuated by an authentic barrel bouquet of hazelnut, cocoa powder, and dark roasted coffee. The story of J. Lohr Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon begins on a farm with Jerry Lohr beginning his search for new land and something new to grow. His knowledge of agriculture as well as climate, soil and location ultimately led him to the central coast of California before it was a destination for winemakers. Here, he was among the first to explore the boundaries of grape growing and winemaking in the area. Two regions in particular exited Jerry; Monterey Country's Arroyo Seco offered an ideal spot for Chardonnay and later he began growing Cabernet Sauvignon in the San Luis Obispo appellation of Paso Robles, which is an outstanding area for the grape thanks to hot days and cool nights.
J. Lohr Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep garnet in color. Rich and compelling notes of ripe bell pepper, currants, plum, black cherry and flowers dance about in the glass. Savory aromas of cedar, vanilla and toast lend a refreshing dimension to the intensely fruity wine. The wine has a rich and robust structure on the palate with intense fruit flavors that reflect the nose. The finish is clean and bright, a signature trait of Paso Robles. Pair J.
