Try this fall riff a classic highball recipe using Peroni and other fall forward ingredients! Recipe courtesy of Barlow Gilmore (@theweekendmixologist).
1 oz Scotch
1 oz Fresh Apple Juice
½ oz Fresh Lemon Juice
½ oz *Cinnamon Syrup (2 cups sugar, 1½ cups water along, 3 cinnamon)
5 oz Peroni Nastro Azzurro
How to Mix
*Cinnamon Syrup - Combine sugar and water along with cinnamon sticks into a saucepan (I like to break the cinnamon sticks into smaller pieces). Heat on medium low and stir until all of the sugar is dissolved. Remove and strain, let cool, bottle and refrigerate, syrup will last 2 weeks. Note: I like to drop a full cinnamon stick into the bottle for more flavor and to help remember it's flavor.
Add all ingredients except Peroni to a shaking tin and then add ice. Shake well and strain over ice into a highball glass. Top with Peroni and garnish with a cinnamon stick and a fan of apple slices.
