7 Cocktails You Should Memorize

You don't have to ace a bartending class to learn how to make good drinks. When it comes to wow-ing your friends and being able to make yourself a damn good cocktail you just need to know the basics. Lucky for you we're here to school you on some of the most easy to make drinks with three ingredients or less.

One of the most classic cocktails out there, if you can whip up an great old fashioned you're already winning. 

  • 1.5 oz Bourbon 
  • 2 dashes Bitters
  • 1 sugar cube 
  • Garnish - orange peel 

In an old fashioned glass shake 2 dashes of bitters onto a sugar cube. Muddle with a splash of Bourbon. Add one large ice cube and pour the rest of the bourbon stirring gently with a bar spoon. Garnish with a twist of orange. 



This simple and refreshing cocktail tastes as good as it looks in it's cool copper mug. 

  • 1.5 oz Vodka
  • 4 oz Ginger Beer 
  • Fresh Lime Juice
  • Garnish - lime wheel

In a highball glass combine ginger beer and vodka over ice. Squeeze 1-2 wedges of fresh lime into the glass and stir. Garnish with a fresh slice of lime. 



For a cocktail with a little caffeine kick you can't get more simple and class than a Cube Libre. 

  • 1.5 - 2 oz Rum (Dark or Light) 
  • 4 oz Cola 
  • Lime Juice 
  • Garnish - lime wheel

In a highball glass combine cola and rum over ice. Squeeze 1-2 wedges of fresh lime into the glass and stir. Garnish with a fresh slice of lime. 



This is like a Mimosa but a little more sophisticated. Try it, we guarantee you'll like it as much as we do. 

  • 3 oz Sparkling Wine or Champagne
  • 1/3 oz Crème de Cassis Liqueur

Add the Creme de Cassis to the bottom of the champagne glass pour in Sparkling Wine slowly to fill. 



Don't be fooled by this drink's cute name and light appearance. It still has tequila. 

  • 1.5 oz Tequila 
  • 4 oz Grapefruit Soda 
  • Garnish - lime wedge

In a highball glass combine tequila and grapefruit soda over ice. Garnish with a lime wedge. If you're feeling extra fancy dip the lime wedge into a salt/sugar mix before garnishing. 



Equal parts of three delicious ingredients will obviously yield something extra good. Meet the Negroni. 

  • 1 oz Gin 
  • 1 oz Campari 
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth 
  • Garnish - orange peel 

Combine ingredients in an rocks glass over a large ice cube. Stir with bar spoon and garnish with a fresh orange peel. 



Super popular in the UK and also just a cool name. Give it a try. Experiment with different types of beer such as IPA, IPL or Saison for a twist on the classic combo. 

  • One part Hard Cider 
  • One part Lager Beer

Fill a pint glass halfway with Hard Cider. Slowly pour the lager over the back of a spoon to layer on top of the cider and filling the glass.
