Father's Day is right around the corner. But if your dad is anything like ours, you can skip the sleeve of golf balls and the Hallmark card. All the man really wants is to enjoy a few afternoon drinks on the deck with you this Sunday.
We asked a few people around the office about the drinks that have a special meaning for them and their dads. And we get the distinct feeling these will be within arm's reach all weekend.

My father and I traveled to Italy for the first time last September, honoring our Italian heritage by sipping locally made crema di limoncello in the hills of the Sorrentine peninsula. Better than the standard limoncello liqueur, the addition of the cream rounds out its tart flavor so it was perfect after the big dinners of fish and pasta. We still enjoy limoncello together, reminiscing about our travels to the birthplace of this famous drink.

My dad's followed me on my wine journey from Andre, moscato and anything else that tastes like juice all the way to the red wine I drink today. He's constantly encouraging me to continue to branch out. When my sister and mom pop a bottle of white, my dad and I always choose red and try something new together. Our current favorite is Rioja!

One of the first beers I ever shared with my dad was Magic Hat #9. Now it's become a mainstay when we're together. We always like to have some #9 around, whether we're boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH in the summer or watching a New York Giants' game.

My dad is that guy. The guy that makes you do tequila shots. A trait I unfortunately inherited, actually (thanks, Dad). But he always makes sure everyone is having a great time and celebrating the right way.

(Bruce taught Kathryn everything she knows. About life, about drinks and, apparently, about writing blurbs. In fact, he's just gonna take it from here.)
Kathryn is a serious margarita fan; I favor gimlets and martinis. Our shared love is wine. Crisp Sauvignon Blancs on summer decks; earthy holiday Burgundies and Rhones; chewy Cabs with the grill; silky smooth Chianti's, marinara and pizza; buttery Chardonnay and popcorn. A father-daughter hobby that will only improve with age. What a treat.
Our Drink: Chianti Classico

My dad is a big hunter and nothing is better than an ice cold Bud Light when you come out of the woods after a long day of sitting in the tree stand. Funny story from when my dad was trying tp pass down his love of deer hunting: After he dropped me off in my stand, he circled back around a little later to check on me and found me reading a book in the tree instead of watching for deer. We laugh about that to this day. I'm not a big hunter but I love cracking a cold one with him when he comes back in from the wilderness.
Our Drink: Bud Light

I have two favorite drinks to share with my dad. The first is the lunch beer after about 4 hours of skiing while we take a quick break. But that's a very close second to the apres ski beer, which we always enjoy with the whole gang! It's more about the moment than a specific beer, but Lunch by Maine Beer Company is always a good choice.
