Because isn't that the whole point?
Mirror Pond Pale Ale is the quintessential northwest pale ale. Cascade hops and more Cascade hops give this tawny colored ale delicious hop-forward aroma and flavor. Pale malt allows the hops to linger, not overpower.View all products by Deschutes Brewery
Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale comes from a family owned brewery out of Bend, Oregon, a big part of the proud tradition of family owned breweries in the Pacific Northwest. Not only is Deschutes family owned and operated, but they also give their employees a part of the ownership, which of course leads to a tight-knit family of prideful people striving to make Deschutes the best that it possibly can be.
The Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale is one of their core, year-round beers. A staple in their line up since their conception in 1988, this beer is named after a section of the Deschutes River that runs right through their town. They use a single hop to brew the Mirror Pond Pale Ale, the Cascadian hop, giving this every day drinking beer a smooth caramel finish, with equal parts floral notes and citrus aromas. It has an orangey bronze tint to the body with a creamy head and abundant aroma.
For a pale ale it is light on the hops, with an almost sweet finish, giving it an easier drinkability without the bitter taste of most pale ales. A lot of pale ales are one-dimensional with their hop flavor but Deschutes masters this genre of beer by not overwhelming the mouthfeel of the drinker after the first beer. It can be enjoyed all year long, during a round of golf, after a long day's work, or at home with a cheese plate. Don't be afraid to put out a spread of hard cheeses and meat to match the Deschutes Mirror Pond Pale Ale, as it most certainly will not disappoint.
