Magners Original Irish Cider is just that, the original Irish cider. Made in Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland since 1935, it is the oldest Irish cider on the market and the recipe remains the same all these years later. Created using 17 different types of apples, many of which are sourced directly from their own 150 acres of orchard land, an enormous amount of care is put into each batch. Pressed and fermented in traditional the traditional manner, it can often take upwards of two years for a single batch to reach maturation as it slowly changes from a delicious apple juice to an extraordinary apple cider.
Magners is a cider that deserves respect and should be poured into a wide mouthed tulip glass for true enjoyment. Allow yourself the chance to gleam at the clear golden liquid and it's small white head. Breathe in the aromas of the farm grown apples, the sweetness from the dessert apples and the tartness from the more traditional cider varieties. Ponder the flavor for a moment and discover the nuances of a cider created with so many different varieties, fermented at low temperatures for an extended period of time. Notes of acidity and tanginess are balanced with molasses like sweetness and a slightly dry finish from the yeast and the tannins from the skins. It's a well rounded piece of apple artwork.
Pair Magners Original Irish Cider with a heaping portion of fish & chips made with fresh caught, flaky fish and thick cut Irish potatoes. Enjoy a glass with a scoop of your favorite ice cream or fireside with gooey s'mores. Enjoy a glass while resting against the trunk of a backyard fruit tree. Share a pint or two with friends while watching a soccer match. Enjoy a bottle in place of a traditional pint of beer as you unwind after a hard day's work.
