A giant of Canadian whisky, created in 1858 and spending six long years in oak before bottling for the smoothest possible flavour. Winner of Gold at the 2016 International Spirits ChallengeView all products by Canadian Club
Few other whiskies have such a storied history as Canadian Club 1858. First distilled by Hiram Walker in 1858, this whisky is one of the oldest and most popular brands of whisky in North America. Through its distillation and six-year aging process, it became the first North American spirit to receive the royal decree from Queen Victoria. However, it wasn't until Prohibition that Canadian Club began its strange venture into the United States. Starting in 1919, Canadian Club became one of the most smuggled liquors into the U.S., boosting its reputation and popularity. When Congress repealed Prohibition, the demand stayed constant, pushing the brand to new heights.
The bright gold color of Canadian Club 1858 Whisky is easy on the eyes and is the precursor to the wonderful smell and taste you'll find inside the bottle. The taste itself is smooth and crisp, spicy and zesty, with hints of vanilla and oak to sweeten and balance the whisky. It's a legend on the rocks or neat, but it's also especially tasty with your favorite mixer or in a cocktail. A mix of 1858 and soda is a preferred drink of many crooners, outlaws and heroes on the silver screen, so whether you want to be a gangster or a movie star, it's the perfect play.
