Good times with friends & family
Most breweries have at least one piece of equipment that’s just a bit persnickity. Here at Boulevard it’s fermenter number seven, the black sheep of our cellar family. Ironically, when our brewers were developing variations on a traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale, the perfect combination of elements came together in that very vessel. You could call it fate, but they called it Tank 7, and so it is. Beginning with a flavorful surge of fruity aromatics and hoppy, grapefruit notes (Amarillo hops), this complex, straw-colored ale finishes long, dry and spicy.View all products by Boulevard Brewing Company
This traditional Belgian-style farmhouse ale showcases fruity aromatics, grapefruit bitterness, with drying hoppy notes finished with a peppery, barnyard finish.
Boulevard Brewery was one of the first craft breweries in Kansas City, and many of their beers are inspired by Belgian styles. They even use a traditional method of bottle conditioning which produces a secondary fermentation in the bottle to create a depth of flavor which tastes better, and fresher, longer.
The Belgian farmhouse style or Saison was originally brewed for the farmhands in Belgian fields to relax after a long day of working. The yeast used in this beer creates the barnyard, earthy flavor that is complex and rich at the same time. With an ABV of 8.5%, Tank 7 is great with food or after dinner.
This beer's earthiness helps it pair wonderfully with mushrooms, roast beef, herbed pork or a simple arugula salad. The pepperiness in the beer will mirror the peppered flavors in these foods to showcase the spice in both. Best-served in a tulip glass to showcase the straw, honey-colored ale and tiny bubbles of its light-bodied effervescence. Tank 7 has an off-white tight foam that leaves beautiful lacing on the glass. This sough-after beer was once limited edition, but is now available all year round.
