Because isn't that the whole point?
The Bogle family have been farming in Clarksburg, California for 6 generations. They planted their first grapes in 1968, and today have over 1,000 acres planted. Clarksburg is a small farming community in the Sacramento Delta and the Bogles are committed to protecting their land and the Earth in general with sustainable farming. In 2010, they became one of the first wineries to abide by the strict rules that dictate sustainable farming. And starting with the 2017 vintage, the Bogle estate will pay an extra two million dollars to ensure that all 91 partners associated with their estate will grow sustainably. Bogle is only one of three wineries to do this without passing any of the cost cost to their customers.
The Bogle Cabernet Sauvignon is an unpretentious, drinkable wine that's fit for any household. If you're just beginning to drink big reds, this is a good start. They source fruit from several of the best vineyards throughout California. To start, aromas of vanilla and dark cherry and plums fill your nose. On the palate, this wine is big and bursting with bold flavors of dark berries, leather and nutmeg spices. The tannins are sharp, making it a delightful pairing with steak, lamb, grilled meats and dark chocolate. Like many cabs, it may need a little time to open up before the full flavors emerge.
