Because isn't that the whole point?

Bell's Oberon Ale is one of the most purely delightful summertime beers that is produced in the United States. Coming straight out of Kalamazoo, Michigan, it can often feel like the fine Bell's brewers found a way to bottle up just a bit of that midwestern sunshine and mix it into this refreshing wheat ale. Apparently, however, that isn't true as it is brewed with just four ingredients, no spices, no fruit, and supposedly no sunshine, but this seems like it must be a lie. The flavors in this beer are ripe and juicy, perfect any time of the year, but unfortunately only available in the warmer months.
It's hard to decide if this one should be enjoyed straight out of the bottle or from a properly poured wide mouthed pint glass. It seems nostalgic to recline in a hammock while sipping on a bottle, but when allowed to flow into a glass, the bright orange color is allowed to shine bright like the summer sun and the massive, pillow of white head has room to foam. Brewed without any fruit or spice, it's rather incredible how strong the notes of fresh picked oranges are on the nose. There are hints of mangoes and other tropical fruits that waft over the bready, cereal notes from the wheat. The mouthfeel is creamy, slick and full bodies. The flavor enchants with further notes of oranges and grassy hops and hints of spice. The sweetness is gentle and the herbal bitterness in the back end of each sip provides a real summertime refresh.
Bell's Oberon Ale is a beer meant for the sunshine. Enjoy it at a weekend block party over the Fourth of July surrounded by good friends and strangers alike. Pair it with grilled chicken sandwiches smothered in swiss cheese, caramelized onions and avocado. Use it to wash down a plate of French fries dipped into a homemade garlic aioli. Try it with fresh caught seafood steamed to perfection and dumped across a table waiting to be devoured. Drink it on a rooftop staring out at the landscape or under a canopy while waves crash down on the beach.
