    Awful!!! Smells like Root Beer, first taste Root Beer and ends with notes of diesel and bitter compost mixed with feet.

    The Root Beer is very tasty… I read the other review that talks about an awful chemical taste? Not sure…I can taste the alcohol as an under tone of the root beer and vanilla, it’s there. The after taste is typical of a root beer… and can give myself a feeling of indigestion…but! It’s still pretty nice… goes well with food… it’s sweet like a soda.

    Tried this recently and it's really bad. It has a really funky and grody after taste that I'm 1000% sure comes from the artificial flavoring. The initial taste is that of a nice root beer, but then the chemical-like taste hits and I grimace with each swallow. It's really unpleasant, and worse than the cheapest of beers.

Small Town Brewery, once based in Illinois, originally produced a line of “gruit” beers called Not Your Father’s Root Beer. A gruit is a style of beer in which the hops are essentially replaced by herbs, plants, or spices, making these brews more of a flavored malt beverage or hard soda. Nonetheless, the Not Your Father’s brand has proven very successful, and in 2015, Pabst Brewing Company acquired a stake in the midwestern-based company.
