Product Description

Back in the early '70s, SoCal surfers loaded up their vans for a trek down to the Baja coast. They chased swells, explored cantinas, and came upon Pacifico-a rich golden lager born in Mazatlán and popular among the locals. The Pacifico Brewery, located in beautiful Mexico, was founded in 1900 by German settlers. A Mexican Pilsner-style lager with a hearty, crisp taste and a touch of grass-citrus and ocean mist flavor with aromas of malty grain with hop accent. An exceptionally drinkable lager that’s compatible with premium seafood like grilled shrimp and Baja tacos. Enjoy this beer at your next barbecue, with friends watching the game, on the beach. This balanced, easy-drinking beer contains 135 calories, 0 grams of fat, 4.4% alcohol by volume and 18/100 IBUs (International Bitterness Units). Best served chilled.

Drizly Expert Notes

Pacifico Clara. It's hard not to say those words without envisioning yourself on extended vacation to Baja California. Imagine a room that overlooks the clear Pacific waters, a white sand beach, all inclusive service that includes back massages, surf lessons, and fine dining brunches. Pacifico beer is made for these moments. A simple Mexican lager at it's soul, Pacifico was discovered and made famous by a group of surfers on an endless summer trip down the coast of Mexico. Legend says that they became enamoured with this golden pilsner, bringing a few cases back to California upon their trip's end, sharing it with friends, creating a buzz about the beer within their community that stands strong today.

Bottle or can, you can't go wrong with a Pacifico in your hand. The yellow label boasts of the crystal clear, sunshine colored pilsner nestled within. The aroma and flavor is traditionally German, having been brewed originally by a few German immigrants who settled in Mazatlan and of course wanted a taste of home. The beer is ripe with those old world pilsner flavors. Clean pale malts give the beer the slightest grainy sweetness while earthy hops finish the sip with hints of freshly cut grass on a coastal plain. Each sip is more refreshing than the last and can even be accentuated by drinking it with a squeeze of lime and a pinch of salt for that true south of the border refinement.

Pacifico Clara is a beer for adventures and for relaxation. It is a beer perfect to throw in your backpack while hiking through an unmarked mountain trail just as much as for winding down at a beachside table at the end of an amazing day of surf and sand. Pair it with tortilla chips and fresh made pico de gallo, grilled chicken tacos, and a whole lot of friends.
