All about light lager
Often affectionately called “dad beers,” or “lawnmower beers,” these lighter choice favorites were made popular by companies like Coors Brewing Company in the ‘40s. Since then, light lagers have become a staple at every bar, liquor store and home fridge. Similar to their full bodied relatives, lagers, light lagers are known for their light color and lower calorie character. Light lagers typically range in ABV from 2.5-5.0% respectively.
Many of the most popular lager brands in the world, like Budweiser, Coors and Miller, all make light versions of their classic beers. So, if you like lagers and are interested in a lighter, more bubbly and refreshing taste, this beer style is a match.
How to serve it
Light lagers often taste better cold, between 40 and 45 degrees Fahrenheit. If you’re a straight from the can or bottle person, then drinking directly out the fridge is great. Otherwise, pour into a Pilsner glass to get a nice head to your light lager and enjoy.
