Product Description

Modelo Negra Mexican Beer, the original Modelo beer, is a Munich Dunkel-style dark lager beer with rich flavor and a remarkably smooth taste. Made with galena and super galena hops, plus slow-roasted caramel malts and non-malted cereals, this Mexican lager style beer is brewed longer to enhance its flavors. The result is a medium-bodied imported beer with 172 calories per serving, minimal hops bitterness, and a surprisingly light finish that exceeds expectations. Savor this easy-drinking beer on its own in a favorite lager beer glass, or pair this balanced, flavorful, dark malt bottled beer with Mexican dishes, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, shellfish, or Asian food. This cerveza is perfect for wherever the night takes you. There's dark beer, then there's Negra, brewed for those with a fighting spirit. *Per 12 fl. oz. serving of average analysis: Calories 172, Carbs 15.7 grams, Protein 1.5 grams, Fat 0 grams. I prefer the especial but this is good as well! It's better with a lime than by itself.

This is a good refreshing lager with body. If a friend asks me to bring a beer that normally does not like beer, I might take this one. This is refreshing after a long day at work and you want something that is not heavy. Even great for after mowing the lawn. Refreshing but won't dehydrate you too much. I love the bottle which has the beautiful gold foil on top with the strong bottle cap that does require a tool. I have seen people try to use their hands, nope. This tastes great out of the bottle or in a tasting glass. The bottle allows easy grip and even will fit into a standard size beer koozie.

Modelo Negra is my go to dark Mexican beer for its great taste. If you already like dark beers, or if you are just trying them for the first time I highly recommend it. Whether drinking it by itself or with food it has a distinctive taste and stands out among most Mexican beers. It is an inexpensive beer that is available just about any grocery chain or liquor store.

Great meal beer! Filling and nice to drink at room temperature too. Prefer this over lighter beers!

Yummy! My favorite larger. It's full bodied and flavorful. If I'm going to drink a beer (and that's not a hard thing to get me to do) this would be my first option. It beats a lot of overpriced IPAs I've tried in the past.

Strictly speaking, there are multiple kinds of amber beers, but what we'll talk about today is amber lagers. These lagers are so popular they're a widely distributed, sessionable craft beer style that showcases a balance between malt and hops.
Amber lagers are medium-bodied beers with a toasty or sweet malt character (think caramel). Hop bitterness can range from very low to medium-high, depending on the brewer, but all in all they tend to be very balanced and drinkable.
These beers tend to be on the lower side of the ABV (alcohol by volume) spectrum, landing somewhere in the 4.5% to 5.5% range, landing them in the "session beer" category.
