The first time I tried Blue Moon it was at home in NYC. My family and friends stopped in the Village for a bite to eat. We tried Blue Moon and was hooked ever since then.

FAQs

Blue Moon is a Belgian-style white wheat ale that, much like other more traditional Belgian wheat beers and Belgian-style white wheat ales (also referred to as witbiers), is a light, low-hops unfiltered beer brewed with authentic Belgian yeast, orange peel, and coriander. Blue Moon is known for its unfiltered, cloudy appearance, its crisp, lightly fruit-forward flavor profile, and, at 5.4% ABV, its incredibly refreshing drinkability. Also, much like other Belgian-style white wheat ales, Blue Moon is often served with an orange slice or orange peel to accentuate and highlight the subtle and sweet orange notes and flavors within the beer itself.
Blue Moon is currently produced at the Blue Moon Brewery in the River North Arts district of Denver, Colorado. Also, it is a wholly owned subsidiary of MillerCoors. Blue Moon was dreamed up and founded by Keith Villa, Ph.D. and brewmaster. It was originally called Bellyslide Belgian Wit, which was first produced at Sandlot Brewery in the early 1990s, where Keith Villa worked at the time. Blue Moon Belgian-style white wheat beer has grown exponentially since its inception in the early craft beer world. It is now also brewed at a second location in Montreal, Quebec, and can currently be found in over 25 countries worldwide.
Blue Moon Belgian-style white wheat beer, as the name implies, is a wheat beer, meaning that one of the main ingredients in the mash that this beer is brewed from is actual wheat grain. Unlike the process of distillation, the fermentation process of brewing allows for the gluten proteins to remain intact and in the final product. If you are looking for a gluten-free beer, unfortunately, Blue Moon is not it. However, Drizly does offer many gluten-free alternatives!
Blue Moon Belgian-style white wheat beers, given their light, refreshing flavor and crisp and bright body, are both wildly popular and highly drinkable. This makes them a great gift to give a beer-lover in your life. In addition to their classic and beloved original Belgian-style white ale, Blue Moon will also seasonally offer specialty variety packs and gift sets. By choosing an alcohol delivery service such as Drizly, you can have Blue Moon Belgian-style wheat beers delivered right to anyone’s door — just don’t forget the oranges!
