Drizly Expert Notes

Perfect for a warm summer's day, Brooklyn Brewery's summer seasonal, Brooklyn Summer Ale, is refreshing and crisp. Perfect for a BBQ, day at the beach, or picnic in the park. This American Pale Ale, brewed with German and American hops, and British 2-row barley gives drinkers a nice bready backbone with a clean earthy bitterness at a moderate 5% ABV.

Hailing from Brooklyn, the brewery has been around since 1987, as one of the original craft beers in the US. Their brewmaster, Garrett Oliver, literally wrote the book on beer, as editor-in-chief of The Oxford Companion to Beer, author of The Brewmaster's Table, and winner of the 2014 James Beard Award for Excellent Wine, Beer or Spirits Professional. His passion for beer is showcased in every beer the brewery produces.

It's a rendition of the “Light Dinner Ale" that was brewed in England throughout the 1800s. The beer pours a dark straw color with a hint of summer sunset orange. Its flavors are biscuitty, and slightly hoppy with a light body, finishing clean with some citrus notes. Inspired by English Pale Ales, the Brooklyn Summer Ale is sessionable and pairs well with seafood, salads or a quiche. And, of course is perfect around a dinner table with friends.
