Sixpoint's Sweet Action is a Cream Ale brewed in New York. It sort-of defies beer categories with part cream, part what and part pale ale. Which gives it a nice creamy flavor balanced by some west coast juicy hops. Piney, grapefruit aroma and flavors with a caramel sweetness and fruitiness that leaves you wanting more. It's got a nice light copper color and finishes semi-dry. A moderate body with citrus notes at the finish, as well. It's a pretty drinable beer.
Sixpoint is a true New York Brewery - brash and bold! The story of this beer is just the same. Originally brewed by the guys are a brewery for a friend's party, it was a bit of a blend from the start. The friend actually requested three different beers! So, the guys put them all together and fermented it with Belgian yeast. Making it spicy, biscuity, and aromatic. And, this was all in Madison Wisconsin! Once it made it's way to the home of Sixpoint in Brooklyn, it had morphed a bit into the delicious concoction it is today. As the brewers say, "your palate just gets it".
Sixpoint was founded in 2004, in Red Hook Brooklyn, and became a cult favorite - draft-only, mysterious, and cryptic. In 2010, they started releasing beer in cans, and the rest is history!
This beer is perfect for spring and summer days, when the weather is warm. Supremely sessionable, at 5% ABV, Sweet Action is good for BBQs, picnics, watching baseball, and chillin' in a porch swing. It's perfect with a hot dog, fried chicken, and pasta salad. The best of American food, with some of the best Brooklyn beer. What could be better?
