Drizly Expert Notes

Leffe Blonde is a Belgian Pale Ale brewed by Abbaye de Leffe. Abbey ales have been brewed primarily in Belgium for centuries. Abbey ales differ from Trappist ales in that they don't need to be brewed under the supervision of a monk. Beer enthusiasts around the world crave Abbey ales and Trappist ales for their distinct Belgian yeast flavor. Abbey ales consist of doubles, tripels, quads, pale ales and strong dark ales. The Abbaye de Leffe started brewing beer as early as 1240, from recipes passed down by generations using locally sourced ingredients.

This Belgian pale ale pours a straw yellow, somewhat hazy from the yeast sediment, with a large white, fluffy, pillowy head that sticks around for quite awhile due to the high carbonation. The aroma is banana and bubblegum followed by cereal grains. The taste of this beer is banana, clove, bubblegum, finishing with a flavor of biscuit malt. The mouth feel is medium with a complexity of flavors. Overall, Leffe Blonde is medium bodied pale ale with plenty of flavor. Although this beer's alcohol by volume is restrained at 6.6 percent ABV, overall it is medium bodied with plenty of flavor.

This is a beer that is best enjoyed in the presence of friends and family as it packs quite the punch. It is perfect for festive occasions or small get-togethers. Any Belgian beer enthusiast, however, could certainly enjoy this beer alone when packaged in a small format.
