    Canijilla hard seltzers were originally crafted in Mexico, but have recently crossed the border into U.S. markets. A Heineken product, these seltzers are the latest to join the competitive seltzer crowd, but Canijilla has a fresh, exciting flavor that helps it stand out. Heineken introduced its Mexican import in 2020 to two distinct markets: California and Texas. The company hoped the brand’s bold, authentic flavors would quickly appeal to the Mexican American population in the U.S.

    Available in two options, consumers can try either the Mango Picosito or the Limón & Pepino. The Mango Picosito combines rich mango with a spicy chili twist, with the Limón featuring cucumber and citrus. Canijilla balances spicy, tart, sweet and floral, crafting a super tasty and refreshing seltzer that is truly different from its competitors. Each can contains 5% ABV and just 120 calories.

    Heineken decided to do things differently and it's paying off. It used consumer-driven tastes and culture to bring something new to the U.S. market. Canijilla is a colloquial Spanish word for mischievous, which is likely a nod to both the playful and bold social media marketing along with the surprising punch of flavor in every can.
