You want an inexpensive but consistently refreshing white wine? Then Barefoot Pinot Grigio is your go-to. With tart green apple, citrus and notes of crisp peach, this light wine pairs perfectly with dishes like tilapia or sole, basmati rice, haricots verts or lemon chicken. You're probably going to want to enjoy this in warmer weather because this is the adult equivalent to a chilled glass of lemonade. But if you're craving it in the colder months, serve it chilled to cut through hearty, warm dishes thick with dairy like raclette, fondue or heavy chowders.
It might be a giant of the wine industry now, but Barefoot wines have grassroots foundations. It's aptly named from how its very first vintage was made. Yep. With feet. Founder David Bynum started in 1965 by making Barefoot Bynum Burgundy from his garage in California. Fast forward 30 years and his copmany was purchased in 1996 and developed into the Barefoot Cellars wine lovers have known to know and love. While bare feet are still a viable way to make wine, the name has evolved to a relaxed, pretention-free way to enjoy a glass. Shoes optional.
