Product Description

A truly authentic Belgian style wheat or white ale, this Rascal is unfiltered (yup, that's yeast on the bottom) and cleverly spiced with coriander and Curacao orange peel producing a refreshingly fruity thirst quencher.

Drizly Expert Notes

Avery Brewing, founded in 1993 out of Colorado, started with one mans dream to create beautiful craft beers and a father that believed in him. Now how is that not the start of a story you can get behind? Adam Avery creates year round brews, barrel aged beers, and botanical beers, just to name a few. The Avery Brewing White Rascal is their signature 'Witbier'. Witbiers are Belgian-style wheat beers, classified as so due to their hazy appearance from not being filtered. The prevalence of orange peels and coriander are also distinct characteristics of this style of beer.

What helps differentiate the White Rascal from other Belgian-style wheat beers, also known as white ales, is that they use the non-traditional Curaçao orange peel along with coriander (cilantro seeds). This beer is citrusy zesty, with a hint of spice, a beautiful cloudy golden color and a frothy foamy head. Complemented by a perfumed, floral, and almost honeyed backbone to go with its yeasty sweetness, this is a beautiful example of a Witbier. Not to mention the very memorable label which is almost reason enough to try this brew.

Avery Brewing recommends you enjoy this beer all year long, with sharp cheeses and dishes with pronounced ingredients, as the White Rascal has the flavor, zest, and yeasty qualities to stand up to strong flavors. Don't be afraid to squeeze a fresh orange slice or two into this after pouring gently into a rounded glass, leaving enough at the bottom of the bottle to shake it a bit and create the perfect foam, you know, if you're into that sort of thing...a perfectly poured beer that is.
