Champagne and Prosecco aren't the only drinks that can add some bubbles to your life. Asti is an Italian sparkling wine and it’s much easier on your wallet. Formerly called Asti Spumante (the Italian word for sparkling wine), it’s a semi-sweet to sweet wine that’s low in alcohol with light aromas of Asian pear, honeysuckle and nectarine.
Food Pairings: With its sweet profile, Asti goes wonderfully with sweet desserts and white chocolate.
Pro Tip: If Asti wine is a little too bubbly for your tastes, try it’s cousin, Moscato d’Asti, for a more mild-mannered, but still slightly fizzy, version.
