  • Uncle Nearest

Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey is inspired by the first known African-American master distiller, Nathan “Nearest” Green. The Uncle Nearest brand is an all minority-led business, encompassing a premium aged whiskey with a blend of 8- to 14- year old, an 11-year-old minimum age single barrel, and a 7-year-old small batch offering, all mellowed using the Lincoln County Process, a unique filtering of bourbon through sugar maple charcoal. Its CEO, Fawn Weaver, is also the first female and the first person of color to run a major whiskey or spirit brand. She said it's her way of honoring the man known to some as the "godfather of Tennessee whiskey."
  • Maison Noir Wines

Maison Noir is a two-fold lifestyle project producing both a T-Shirt line and Oregon wines. Founded by sommelier André Hueston Mack in 2007, both ends of Maison Noir incorporate a trademark attitude and personal perspective on wine subculture. The wines are unique and distinctive garage wines, initially created for some of the New York's best restaurants for whom Mack was a sommelier.
  • Loft & Bear

At 29, Paul Ryan Elliott is one of the youngest distillery owners in America. Loft & Bear’s artisanal vodka is crafted in the heart of downtown Los Angeles arts district in small batches. Distilled from soft organic winter wheat and California sourced spring water, they hand fill and label every bottle for a true craft experience. Further, 5% of Loft & Bear’s profits are donated to their partners at PATH and other charitable community events.
  • Speakeasy Ales & Lagers

Speakeasy Ales & Lagers is the only Black-owned brewery in Northern California and one of a handful nationwide. (In fact, in all of America, there are only about 60 Black-owned breweries.) Speakeasy Ales & Lagers has been defiantly brewing small batches of beer in San Francisco’s Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood since 1997. The brewery started with a single iconic beer, still made today, called Prohibition Ale.
  • Legend Vineyard Exclusives (LVE)

John Legend–the first Black man to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony–launched his own wine label in 2015 in partnership with family-owned Raymond Vineyards in Napa Valley. The perfect harmony of passion, eloquence and Napa Valley tradition, LVE wines are a unique series of rich, soulful and complex notes inspired by true love.

Drizly Retail Partners’ top picks

  • Happy Cork, Brooklyn

"I have always loved the wine and spirits world but when we were thinking of opening I wanted to have something that would be for the community and inclusive of brands that aren't typically carried anywhere else. We have the largest selection of black owned, minority owned, women owned and run wines and spirits in the US.  Being able to highlight these brands is a special part of this experience. A few of my favorites are Esrever, McBride Sisters Collection, La Fete Rose, Lve by John Legend, Uncle Nearest, HH Bespoke Spirits, Wifey brands, Three by Dwayne Wade." – Sunshine Foss, Owner
