Gift #1: sparkling wine
Sparkling wine is a great gift any time of year, but especially around the holidays. In fact, sparkling wine consumption has been growing for many years, and historically spikes around the holidays. So much so that sparkling wine generally accounts for 25% of gifts on Drizly from October to December. So not only is it a perfect gift to give, but it’s an awesome gift to receive. Not sure if your giftee is into sparkling wine? It’s a great gift for your colleagues that love foods like brie, seafood and fruit based dessert. Not sure if they’re into those? No worries. Sparkling wine actually pairs with most foods, so if you’re not sure what they’re into, this gift is still a safe bet. Since sparkling wine is synonymous with celebration as well, it’s a great option for colleagues celebrating a milestone. Whether this is an employee gift or a client gift, we have a few bottle suggestions.

Gift #2: red wine
Last year, red wine accounted for a significant amount of all gifts given via Drizly. What does that mean? Red wine is an awesome gift. It can fit any budget and almost any taste profile. Red wine pairs very well with many of the hearty foods we eat during the holidays. It's also great for those colleagues who you’ve heard talking about how much they love a glass of Cabernet or mixing together some mulled wine. If your giftee is a vegetarian, we’d recommend going with a lighter bodied red like a Pinot Noir or Beaujolais.

Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon296
Gift #3: whiskey
Whiskey has seen a huge resurgence in the last decade, which means there are a lot of whiskey buffs out there. It’s actually been a staple in a lot of gift orders on Drizly last year. If you have someone on your list that appreciates the finer things–whether on the rocks or neat, we've got you.

Lagavulin 16 Year232
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey415
Gift #4: tequila
Fact: people who love tequila, REALLY love tequila. And there are a lot of them out there. Tequila’s a great gift because the flavor options and price points are so diverse, so they fit any preference and budget. Its popularity has been growing tremendously over the last couple of years as new premium options are introduced. Have someone on your list who loves when their drinks have an oaky flavor? They’d love reposado. Maybe they’re barbecue aficionados and like things with a smoky finish? Try a mezcal instead (this ones not always a tequila, but tequilas are always mezcal). Do yourself a favor and give the people what they want so they don’t get...salty (already wish I could take that back).
