Pour a glass of eggnog because the holidays are HERE. That means it's time to start planning this year's holiday party- a perfect way to engage employees, boost morale and develop deeper relationships among coworkers. But let’s be honest, the actual “planning” part of an office holiday party can be a bit much to take on.
If you need any other help, check out these articles on party planning and happy hours. But if you're curious about how many drinks are enough for the event, we've put together serving and product selections based on popular party adds, and suggestions from the Driz team.
Statistically, the average number of drinks consumed per person at holiday parties is: 2.3-2.6 glasses of wine; 2.6-3.5 cocktails or mixed drinks; and 3.1-3.6 beers.
So generally, the amount of drinks consumed per person is between two to four glasses of whatever it is they’re drinking. How does that break down per bottle?
Wine
A 750ml bottle of wine gives you between 4 to 6 glasses (depending on how heavy the hand). So you’ll want to plan for about a bottle of wine for every two guests.

Spirits
A 750ml bottle spirit runs about 17 servings at 1.5 oz per drink. With the cocktail consumption we’re assuming, you’ll want one 750ml bottle for about every five people.

Beer
Like we said, account for 3.1-3.6 beers per person. So you’ll want a six pack (ish - maybe account for more depending on the crowd) for every two guests.

Non-alcoholic
For both mixers and alternatives for folks in the office who may not drink, non-alcoholic options are very important. For purchasing the right amount of bevvies, assume one drink per person with alcohol, and about three drinks per person without alcohol.

Ice
One pound of ice per person is ideal. You may be thinking, “1 POUND per person? That’s insane.” But that’s literally what every expert on the subject (including our own) believes. Ice is make or break. Have a lot of ice. You need ice.

So that’s how things breakdown per bottle. What does that mean for your party? We’ve put together a handy little chart.
