Drizly Expert Notes

Angry Orchard Stone Dry is the driest the Angry Orchard core selection of ciders. Coming in at 5.5% ABV, Stone Dry is inspired by traditional dry English Ciders by using both the acidity of culinary (common supermarket food apples) and the tannins (or bitterness) of traditional cider making apples, which are Dabinett, Binet Rouge, and Harry Masters. Angry Orchard adds a small amount of unfermented bittersweet apple juice to the cider after fermentation to round out the product. This results in fuller tannic mouthfeel and dryness and aromatic fresh ripe apple notes.

Angry Orchard is located in Walden, NY within the Hudson Valley and owned by Boston Beer Company. Known as the “Apple Belt of New York," the conditions of the Hudson Valley allow for ideal conditions for growing apples with its soil, moderate winters, rainy spring, and humid summers.

To pair this cider, stay light with starters like, root vegetables, seafood, and charcuterie. As for a cider cocktail, the dryness and tannins can replace the sweeter notes of a ginger ale when creating an “Angry Mule." Combine 2 ounces of vodka, ¾ ounce of freshly squeeze lime juice, ¾ of ginger syrup, and shake with ice, pour into a glass with ice and top with Angry Orchard Stone Dry Cider. Cheers and enjoy!
