Get the door, its the liquor store
National City, whose motto is “in the center of it all,” lies just south of San Diego proper and claims... a pretty sweet perch beside the San Diego Bay. Though its name sounds a bit designed-by-committee, the history of National City proves otherwise. The 26,000-acre site was originally named Ranch of the King by Spain, then Ranch of the Nation when Mexico gained independence from the crown. In 1845, when Andrew Johnson issued the land patent to Don Juan Forster, it was given the name “The National Ranch.” Three American brothers purchased the whole ranch a few decades later and turned it into a city, keeping the name. After this came roads, a railroad, a sea port, and fancy European and Asian trees (which live on to this day). Fast-forward to the modern day, and you’ve got a thriving yet quiet little city home to around 60,000 people. One of National City’s most famous quirks is its Mile of Cars, where you’ll find lowriders and antique classic automobiles cruising the strip. As if this place weren’t SoCal enough. National City is a dream come true: perfect weather, perfect location, small-town vibes in a big city. However, you won’t get the full experience until you try Drizly’s alcohol delivery service. Visit our app or website to find a full selection of beers, wines, and liquors from the city’s local liquor stores. We’ll have them at your door in 60 minutes or less.
