A to Z Pinot Noir has long been a respected value wine coming out of Oregon, often a pricey region. It was founded by four friends, Deb Hatcher, Bill Hatcher, Sam Tannahil and Cheryl Francis, who were all very experienced in the Oregon wine business. A to Z Wineworks sources fruit from a large network of over 100 premium growers all over the state. They have a singular mission to offer “Aristocratic Wines at Democratic Prices."
A to Z Pinot Noir accomplishes a very difficult task extremely well. Pinot Noir is a fickle grape and very difficult to grow, even in its best-suited conditions. The thin skins can be fragile and prone to rot, and rain during harvest can cause grapes that are swollen with water and virtually tasteless. For this reason, A to Z cultivates positive and harmonious relationships with its network of wine growers to ensure a large palette from which to blend. The A to Z pinot noir is a blend from about 100 different fermentations, which is necessary to create a wine of excellence with consistency year after year.
A to Z Pinot Noir offers inviting aromas of strawberry, cherry, blueberry, raspberry and cranberry with outstanding violent floral aromas. As it breathes it develops earthy notes of forest floor, cedar and pipe tobacco with a gorgeous mineral balance. Tannins are smooth and subtle with flavors of cherries, strawberry, and fall baking spice.
